Fourteen years ago today, I gave birth to my son. He was a happy, healthy baby. Along with his sister, he’s been my joy since the day he was born.

It’s been a long and difficult road since his Autism diagnosis at the age of two and a half, but I wouldn’t trade him for the world. Happy birthday to my sweet, beautiful Vaughn. May this year bring you every ounce of happiness and opportunity you deserve. I love you to the moon and back!

I've suffered from depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem for many years. When my son was diagnosed with Autism, my depression took a turn for the worse. At the age of 39, I've opened up a new lease on life by learning to love myself and finding positive ways to cope with life's difficulties through blogging, fitness, photography, writing, and the arts. This is just one personal journey of healing and finding oneself.
